Hello, I am a memory preserver

My name is Stacy Merritt, I grew up in Arlington Washington. A small Dairy town in gorgeous Western Washington. I grew up on a farm, I love being outdoors and enjoying the beauty around me. I have lived in North Idaho for 16 years. This has become our home and my backyard. We have five children and two grandchildren.

I always had a camera in my hand growing up, but it wasn't until I was in college, that I took a photography class. I fell in love with it after that. For many years, I learned how to shoot in manual mode, controlling every aspect of my camera, to produce the effects I wanted. My adventurist side matched perfectly with a camera in my hand. Over the years, I have traveled every corner of Northern Idaho, I have sacrificed sleep, early mornings and late nights to capture God's creation surrounding me. The last few years I have started to include taking portraits. At first I avoided this avenue, I wasn't sure it was something I wanted to do. Ever since the beginning, I fell in love! Capturing the beauty in people and finding their true self is an amazing feeling. My latest addition has been to photograph weddings, there is a magical feeling while photographing a wedding. Being a part of such a special moment, is an honor. Once I photographed a few weddings, I realized I was avoiding them for no reason. I try sometimes to choose a favorite, maybe senior sessions, they are so personal and customizable. Then, I think about how special maternity shoots are, I can't just choose one because, I love them all! I also help run the North Idaho Photography Club in Coeur D'Alene. I work with many amazing photographers, who have been doing this, since before I was born. My latest addition has been a studio located in Naples, Idaho. It has been a dream to have an indoor space to do newborn shoots and many other genres of photography.
